Deborah Baker, founder and designer of famed footwear brand Fiorentini + Baker, will co-host a reception for celebrity and fine arts photographer George Holz, in celebration of his 300-page retrospective monograph entitled Holz Hollywood. The event takes place on Wednesday, April 20th from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Fiorentini + Baker boutique in Venice, California.
Holz's career began as an assistant to legendary photographer Helmut Newton, and over the last 35 years he has become famous in his own right, photographing some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Among the images featured—Brad Pitt, Jack Nicholson, and Angelina Jolie—are portraits Holz photographed in the 1980s for Interview Magazine, which include Laurie Anderson, Madonna, and Bernadette Peters. Deborah Baker, a fan of the photographer’s work, is delighted to host the celebration in her California flagship store on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice. With the late great iconic American actor Dennis Hopper gracing the cover, there couldn’t be a more fitting location, given he was a long time resident of the neighborhood.
