Fiorentini + Baker hosts some Festive Fun During the Shoreditch Christmas Design Triangle
The Shoreditch Christmas Design Triangle ran during December 2013. It brought together a collection of designers, stores, galleries, studios, cafes, bars, brands who hosted one-off events for three weeks of design-led festivities during the festive period. Here is what Fiorentini + Baker got up to.....
Fiorentini + Baker’s late night festive events kick off with a special appearance from NYC DJ Misbehaviour. A personal friend of designer Deborah Baker, Misbehaviour will provide a groove-infused soundtrack to the first Shoreditch Christmas Design Triangle event. The British born DJ Misbehaviour firmly planted her roots within the essence of London’s club culture and made her mark at premier London venues such as Hanover Grand and Subterania (both winners of the prestigious MOBO Awards for best club). This lead to exclusive events such as film premiere parties at the Waldorf Hotel including a private party for Prince. Please join us on 5th December from 6pm until late when Upstairs at Rivington is transformed from shop floor to dance floor! For further info on Misbehaviour’s musical credentials please head here http://djmisbehavior.com.
Fiorentini + Baker’s second late night event for the ingenious Shoreditch Design Triangle will feature textile performance artist extraordinaire Harriet Riddell. The London based artist will be setting up her faithful sewing machine at Fiorentini + Baker’s Rivington Street store and will set about customising the brand’s shopping bags as well as offering to stitch portraits. Riddell is a uniquely creative artist who caught the eye of designer Deborah Baker when she was out shopping at one of her favourite vintage markets. So please join us on 12th December and enjoy some cool sounds, wine and food and special festive discounts.
For the third and final special event for the Shoreditch Design Triangle late night openings Fiorentini + Baker’s dedicated in-house photographer, James B Young will be setting up a pop-up, photographic studio Upstairs at Rivington. James has worked with F+B for many years and creates some of the iconic images used in the brand’s look books, shooting on location in Milan, Paris and London. This is a unique opportunity to have your portrait taken by a professional photographer making a special christmas gift for family and friends, or simply for posterity. As usual at Fiorentini + Baker HQ the wine will be flowing and delectable Italian treats will be available, as well as special discounts, music and fun. Please join us on 19th December from 6PM till late. We hope to see you there.
